Description

Imaged Saturn on the night of October 3, 2023 (10/4 in UTC) under above average seeing and above average transparency.  Saturn's disc had a diameter of 18.5" and a visual magnitude of +0.6 at this time.  Experienced some of the best seeing all year on this night, not sure if I would rate it excellent but for sure above average.  This is the first image where I've been able to discern some bands in the southern hemisphere in my images.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut and IR 685nm pass filters, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture with gain=375/exposure=20 ms (UVIRC filter) and gain=375/exposure=30 ms (IR pass filter). Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 20% of ~12000 frames (UVIRC)/8000 frames (IR) captured over 240 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6.  De-rotated and combined 3 sub images in WinJupos.
